We are delighted to share news happening within and about our organization.

• Beverley Dawson is bringing Women & Wishes to the Boston area.  She will be hosting a welcoming tea for women in Boston, thus introducing them to the new Boston Chapter of Women & Wishes. Kelly and Marion will be attending this event to speak of the virtues of helping the middle class women in need.  Beverley is planning an October event to formally introduce Women & Wishes to the community. We thank you, Beverley, for your commitment to expand this organization to a national level.

• Kelly Cappola has accepted an invitation to be on the Winterfest 2010 Boat Parade committee. Kelly will be a great addition to their committee as she will bring great experience and dedication to this post.

• Kelly Cappola will be head of the committee for the prestigious 1000+ Club to Benefit Cancer, Inc. Women of the Year for 2011. Kelly was a recipient of their Women of the Year 2009 award, and was Marion Applegate’s liaison for their 2010 event.

• Marion Applegate, Vice President/Treasurer, was awarded the prestigious Women of the Year 2010 award from the 1000+ Club to Benefit Cancer, Inc. Representing Women & Wishes as one of the most outstanding organizations in our community was quite an honor for Marion. The luncheon hosted over 750 guests, a silent auction and was emceed by news icon, Tony Sergreto. The event was held at the Marriott Harbor Beach, Fort Lauderdale, on April 7, 2010. Congratulations Marion, you so deserved this award!

• Jane Vicale was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Event Solutions Spotlight Award of 2010 as “Marketing Professional of the Year.” Congratulations, Jane!
